I personally like to dive into media that is confusing and/or negative when I feel like having a little "study" of people's perspectives, and what then tie that into whatever possible motivations I can imagine that would lead them to those perspectives. Conspiracy forums are amazing for this. I never post on them or join, just read and think, lol.

That's what I find myself doing a lot of when I just want to pass the time at home, with a nice fat plate of rice and beans on the side
