Is it not possible to be a slave to one's own ideas, to enslave oneself with the self?

I feel it is possible. It is why I am not afraid of information from others. I used to bound myself to my understanding, but too many times I let myself down. I have found that I know little, and therefore, I listen.

(in some ways, the countpoint could be made that i'm not listening at all to unity, but i'd contend that listening does not constitute agreement.)
