This thread seems to be Pluto-centric, so I suppose I'll start there too. 
I am currently awaiting the final two of three (D,Rx,D) Pluto squares to my natal sun. I was cautious as I saw these coming. I only know one person who has experienced this transit and experienced major changes. Although the consolation is that he was in a negative place, had that destroyed, and rebuilt positively. So far for me, the first square went by with seeming normalcy. Shrug, it ain't over yet. .... I wonder if it's due to my asc being Scorpio (sun Aries) that I'm able to assimilate the energy easier, or maybe I'm not in need of a rebuild- haha, yeah right, Pluto doesn't play that way
Meerie, you spoke of synastry... My venus conj wife's mars, my nnode conj her moon. Good stuff. Oh, and she is a scorp asc, Aries sun as well.
As for me, I like Uranus the best. Two degrees off my asc in the twelfth house, I seem to personally attach to it's qualities. I love the unusual. (hehehe, my wife says "Not sure what that says about me" ) ... I will say it is easy to get confused between my Uranus qualities and my Aquarius Moon qualities. I like them both.
A final thought- I have found, myself, that one of the strongest factors in my chart is the interpretation of my sun sign's planet in it's sign. For me, this is Mars in Cancer. ( this could just be a mars thing, but I lean more toward it being a sun sign's planet placement) Mars in Cancer, the natural house of home/foundations, it rings very true that my energies and desires are poured into creating a secure "home." So very true. Look up your own and let me know if it is strong in your life too.
