My two cents on this. I've definitely experienced this. Multiple times. It's been a couple years. It is always accompanied with the sense that an entity is lurking with intentions I don't like. Never seen with my physical eyes, only my mind's eye. It's usually a black shadow. My sister's idea is that it is me entering my body.
Ocean- LOL, your tip cracks me up. I think it describes the sequence every sleep paralysis experiencer partakes in as they begin to get movement back under control. (note to self: stop trying to move elbows first)
lol, i haven't had real paralysis, but i saved myself from being polunged into the depths of something with that.

what is the vibrational state like? once my entire bed vibrated so much i thought someone was walking outside my room. but noone was there. and this was coming from my heart. at least it felt like it. i was in total extacy. i also had two what i think were astral experiences around that time, but can't remember if it was the same day.
