in the words of my music teacher who is teaching us music theory for children- because there is no life without drama to tell a story in music.
if everything was consanant... where is the catalyst. the change in depth, the journey.
it's not about the means to the end, it's about the journey of self discovery, of learning.
most of all it's about the imagination that is required for the adept. going back to that time where u could pretend u were a cop or a robber without a second thought, before the world of reality got to your mind and sucked out your spirit.
the light and dark come together to mix and coalesce. is what creates movement. and cause it's fun. why do u do kung fu? or yoga? i could say oh it's only about fighting.
though as a kung fu practictioner and someone who knows the art, I don't think it's about fighting, it's about determination, spirit and discipline.
while zombies themselves are an allegory for the unawoken.. hence the husk of flesh with nothing but hatred and anger. it's just a symbol.
Carla likes to watch sci fi.... probably because it reminds her of a time when it was all possible subconciously.
the imagination is the gateway to the third eye and to adept work.
the game is almost like a figurative metaphor for life itself. or any game for taht matter
what is a vampire really... are there real vampires? yes
energy vampires. people who constantly worry about this and that..
are there real zombies? yes people who work 9-5's without a second thought to anything but their job.
I understand patterns and symbols instead of taking things for face value. I speak and comprehend the language of the higher self, and dreams.
Where others simply work with the face of reality, i work with the face of the invisible and of energy. It's something you probably understand a bit about as you like metal, why do you like metal. There is a story told in the music of metal itself, whether it is metallica, or whatever your kids get u into.
There are high points in the song, just like there are low points in the song.. if they were all high points there would be no character to the song, if there were all low points it would make a boring song. even so... killing zombies to let off steam.. is a lot better than punching other people in the face.
from playing counterstrike i found that getting pissed always makes me suck
so i had to learn how to not feel pissed or scared when someone came out of nowhere to shoot me
so it was making me keep my cool, under tense situations especially when things got bad
and it's always when you get pissed off, or stressed or acting like a wimp when something scary happened, it's only the creator reflecting itself back to you... as parts of yourself you have not accepted or integrated.
if you want to look at it negatively, it made me desensitized to killing or whatever... which isn't true at all i cry when i see sad things happen in movies. i feel bad when i see real things get hurt..
i laugh when i see someone trip.. but i cry when i see someone in pain.
but i don't look at it like a pessimist. the way i look at it is it helped me handle tense situations.. and learn to keep my cool and not to explode out in fear, or to explode out in anger.
it's always the people who suck that let themselves get angry or explode out. and all the gamers make fun of you for getting so pissed in the first place. which is what i was trying to show with the picture i posted to unity which is about "rage quitting"
which has everything to do with gamer culture.
perhaps it is purely our difference in generation, or perhaps it is the age of my soul.
from a completely non ego perspective...
i know so many gamers who aren't violent, and are well rounded. similarly you only attract what you see and what you expect out of life.
and it just makes me want to take a stand whenever someone says video games are evil
might as well say gay people are evil, or rap music is evil, or black people are evil, or whatever else that doesn't fit into the society's norm
you don't even know the culture.
science was regarded as the devils work once.
and so was metal music.
and so was just about everything else that was new, that people didn't "understand"
games are fun and evil is only in the eye of the beholder since there is no such thing as evil
if you sat down to play wow (world of warcraft), you'd see good people and bad people, annoying people and cool people, funny people and sad people. maybe you would see some lazy people, productive people, people who neglect their kids, people who don't neglect their kids.
unfortunately because of the media and the way this society is we only hear about the bad things people do, but u don't go and hear news stories about people who donate their ingame money to their guilds, or people who meet up together to help each other finish quests and get dungeon specific loot.
no you only hear about the a*******, the rejects, the bad people, and the bad side of it.
why am i so passionate about this anyway. because i have met so many damned good people playing video games.. and for any of you to say video games breed bad people... is to say that all these great people I have met over the years are bad.
No it is you who is bad for judging a group of people as if they cannot take responsibility for their own actions when they do. It is the hearts and minds of gamers and of the anime subculture, that see the fighting, and fight for their hearts, for a better tomorrow, and they feel this burning love for humanity and for life, through the stories that are conveyed in each hero of each video game, anime, tv show, movie.
It's that shining LOVE that they feel, that emanates outward... and it's that very energy that you do NOT see, because love is invisible and yet it stabilizes the energetic fields around this planet. this whole completely unseen world, but instead it's oh it's all about killing and violence.
NO IT'S NOT.
haven't any of you ever remembered being a kid.. and reading some comic book and reading about some superhero that saved the world and u wanted to do that. haven't any of you ever gotten super excited at some thing your parents hated, and u went and did it anyway... you experienced it, you learned from it, you grew as a person from it, slowly but surely to get to where u are at now.
life is like one big video game
reincarnation is the reset button
and the things we kill
instead of monsters and enemies
are our own inner demons and our own inner zombie.
for the record i'm not trying to tell any one of u to think video games are good. i'm simply saying it's not right to say no one should play video games because they are wrong and evil and influence society to become more violent or whatever.
