it may be resistance of societal mind to a certain step of vibratory increase, it may be a planet-wide last effort by negativity, it may be something else.

I'd think the personal mind would see the most dramatic affects first - societal mind is diluted with respect to personal 'problems' and would not be pulled towards specific distortions but only those that society, as a whole, had not yet addressed. The social mind is always collectively asking 'questions' (money, energy, war, health, spiritual matters) - although we'll still not see that we're asking the questions, the 'answers' will arrive faster and be more confrontational (i.e. X is what happens when you want or do Y) than in the past. These answers then are feed back to more questions.

Negativity? I rather think it's just 'transparency' or self reflection - the difficulties customized to what's so far been left unaddressed by the individual. The difficulties should have much more meaning to those experiencing them personally, than to an onlooker.
