how interesting meerie, and very funny about him understanding what you were saying about firing his dad
you're right, young children understand a lot more than they are given credit for, and they remember much much more than most people expect
my son had very obvious past life memories, they started when he was two. at the time i found what he was saying quite uncomfortable because he was talking about his daddy and mum - parents other than myself - so i sought advice on this board and was given some fantastic support. the past life recollections seem to have faded now, but he does have very obvious telepathic moments, he always has had i guess. and when a family member died last autumn he was asking about death, i told him people believe different things referenced reincarnation and he lit up and said 'that's right, that's what happened to granny' - meaning my mum who is very much alive and who i have always known has a connection with my son that goes way back
one thing i do wonder about is the normality of recollections of previous life. my son was a very early speaker, he's always been very verbal, very communicative and has always found it very easy to express himself, so perhaps it was the clarity of his communication about his memories that was unusual, rather than the memories themselves being unusual
