One question: How are you doing survival-wise? Are you in a comfortable financial situation? If you look at Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, it is relevant that if your survival needs aren't taken care of, working on "spiritual" things is going to be very difficult.
My advice is to just work on becoming the best version of yourself. This will include knowing who you are vs. who you want to be. That is where I would put my efforts. Don't have expectations; this is paradoxical because you can still have goals (such as to evolve consciously); you just can't be attached to outcomes. In modern-day society we expect immediate gratification, and that rarely happens.
