I would not be so quick to dismiss it. As with the Ra material, there are things to dismiss and things to keep dear to your heart. The Ra material teaches us that we are all one, Urantia teaches us that we are here to learn to do the will of the Father. The second part of the book, about the life of Jesus is very interesting and casts a new light upon his whole personality and reasons for being here. That book has helped me forge a new relationship with God and I am thankful for it.
Also, please be mindful that even Ra works within the bounds of the Law of Confusion and many things he says might not be necessarily be true.
Welcome kmikz.
Hi guys,
I actually have skimmed through the book just last month, upto the beginning of the part "PART IV Life And Teachings of Jesus." For most part, I found this book convey ideas by rules upon rules, and items upon items, ranks upon ranks. I has hard time to process (also made me sleepy haha) so decided to skip those parts/papers. Because I can never remember or apply these on daily catalysts.
But some of the chapters do has merits such as their comments on Religion on the earth and Society. Their concept of Adjustor (=a portion of One Infinite Creator) can be viewed as a distorted/veiled version of Ra teaching.
As for the concept claiming Jesus is Archangel Michael's incarnation and there is no reincarnation, as mentioned by @Infinite, my theory is that Urantia Book was passed from earth inner plain, it has its limits of perceiving truths. On the other hand, Ra was from higher density. Also, note that there are contents that are from the "Use of other published material without attribution." (can refer to its wikipedia entry)
So my suggestion is that, you can just skim trough and focus on some of the chapters u found interested in.
(Off-topic, to me, I had much harder time to even have the courage to begin read "Oasphe.")
