Instead I would point to the opposite that we see patterns because everything is composed of patterns and that perceiving those patterns is a huge part of development of the mind. So, it's not like "oh everybody sees patterns, it's all interpretation", in my mind, it's more like "everything is made of layers of interwoven pattern that takes many consciousnesses to unravel".
I can see I wan't clear. I agree with what you say above. But there is also a brain stem function that recognizes patterns, because survival depends on it. At some point, the recognition of patterns includes higher functioning. I just think it's efficacious to know that there is a basic survival layer and that pattern seeking is innate, not necessarily an indication of anything else. That said, when individuals study esoteric philosophies, certainly those patterns become evident, and they are important to comprehension of the whole.
