"I am genuinely interested in the male body experience, how it may relate or differ from my own. But hasn't it been said enough times that gender roles are illusionary at best, destructive at worst? "

Active/passive are the terms I prefer.
In the way the minds are different, in gestation all brains begin as female and testosterone shapes the brain in to it's masculine patterns. Female brains have more a subtle way of detecting sound.

UNDERSTANDING MAGICIAN
"My understanding, helped by my readings and my own conclusions, is that the garden represents the subconsciousness. The Magician draws from the arbor (superconsciousness) and directing his will, he plants seeds in the ground of the garden (subconsciousness), resulting in the 5 five-petaled roses and 4 six-petaled lilies.
In reading Paul Foster Case's 'The Tarot,' he states that the roses (symbolic of desire-nature), represent 'that phase of subconscious response to self-conscious direction which has to do with art, invention, and the adaptation of the principles of abstract truth to practical ends.' And then, that there are five of them because all desire is related to sensation, there being 5 traditional senses. The 4 six-petaled white lilies have six petals which is signified as the hexagram, a symbol of the macrocosm. Hermetic science concerns itself with the laws of the Macrocosm, thus there are 4 lilies because these laws exist in the 4 worlds (Archetypal, creative, formative, and material).
The garden itself makes sense to me, however the fruits, or the flowers, that eventually grow just aren't clicking for me. Everything else clicks.
I don't expect anybody to work this out for me, obviously that is something one must do for themselves. I just figured it might be helpful to hear other's perspectives on the card, and specifically this aspect of it ....

"For astrology, the winter solstice of 2012 is the end of the Age of Pisces and the beginning of the Age of Aquarius.
The Sun is at 0 degrees Capricorn. It makes a sextile to Neptune, right at the beginning of Pisces. The most
important configuration is a yod, also called the Finger of God. It looks like an arrow in the chart and it indicates
change and transformations. The yod consists of a five-point connection between Jupiter and Pluto and another
five-point connection between Jupiter and Saturn. There is also a central opposition made between Jupiter and the
Mercury/Venus conjunction. The quincunx between Jupiter and Pluto is exact at December 21, 2012"
Divination is the purpose of both the I ching and the Tarot. Tarot mystic: give me 5$ I'll shuffle my deck and lay out the cards related to the personal energy I'm channeling from you and tell you what I think your future holds
I Ching confucian: Hmm...I need to make a decision about where our monks will meditate on our retreat. I'm going to go get some yarrow stalks and fold them as I flip a coin to see where this book of changes/fate tells me where we should go and on which day...

Divination has more than one meaning, it means future-telling to most people but it also means inner illumination
Novelty theory in the context mentioned on the PDF page means that the purpose of reality, as evidenced by the way that biological systems integrate--is to create more interconnectivity between an individuals mind, interconnectivity within a collectively conscious mind. Neurons connecting with synapses more and more densely, and evolution later unfolding by computer screens across continents
It is no coincidence than the I ching was proven to be a lunar calendar, zodiac calendar, and an axial precession tracking mechanism. The mathematics are there, it is structured the same way DNA and Lunar cycles are. They are the same thing with a different name.
It is no coincidence than the tarot is related to the Zodiac ages. They are images but also-- compressed astrological influences. Ra says it was to help lower level entities progress toward higher densities of understanding, which in my mind means it's like showing a monkey an image of "3" then 3 fingers held up "3" and giving the monkey an image of "3 bananas" and giving him 3 bananas to understand because simple monkey can't count. Maybe he'll understand instead of verbally counting to 3 and expecting him to not just walk away. This isn't me criticizing the use of Tarot. It is what Ra describes it as.
In the same way that my "nonsensical rambling" the term people at times have used to mock my info--"WATS THAT MEAN FOR ME tho!?!" depicting math around the number 64 I could just show someone a picture of a moon with a caduceus on top in order to make it easier to understand.
cuz reading 50 walls of text seems easier to some people I've tried to communicate to-- instead of visualizing a hologram of a chessboard [they have 64 squares] with puppet strings attached to each cell of your body-- invisibly floating above your 7th chakra where the moon is-- influencing your interactions with everything in a way that can be calculated aeons before and ahead of time. Even towards higher levels such as the Sun, density 9, and what lately is starting to look like the planet Jupiter at 10 [Hamsa yoga in hindu astrology] ascending all the way to 14 densities.

Ra: "Hey homo erectus, you can't graph timetables but how about as I, a supreme infinite god-entity named Ra give you a pic of caduceus on moon or send a big monolith like in 2001: Space odyssey...go meditate on the moon and good things will happen!"
Ra hoping that the minds of these entities will become energized enough to understand the data at a later date. Hell even today though, advanced computer software had to be created to make the I Ching mathematics something that could be visualized who does math in their head around the numbers related to 25,728 years?

Astrology/astronomy I don't see the dichotomy people hype up for the most part.
I'm not insulting anyone's intelligence. This is learning. This is how the Tarot is described in Law of One. Ra sending images to help people progress as a simple way to understand conscious evolution when humans were less evolved. Planetary influences are mentioned. The first reading on the LOO tarot page describes how it was derived from data that ancient Mesopotamians channeled and brought to Egypt to try and help people progress.
In books I remember reading about these concepts, the idea did indeed have something to do with a supracosmic energy flowing from the Sun as center of solar system and the galactic center of Milky Way. Lately Jupiter seems significant to me as an aspect of it as 10th density

For an even deeper understanding, waterlilies are another word for lotus, the I Ching as a Hexagram and the patterns of a hexagram being re-encoded in the hierarchy are a part of the formulations. 6 lines is a hexagram, 64 hexagram is an entire I ching board hence they are a part of the inherent structuring amplified multiple times. Refer to the quincunx:
"And then, that there are five of them because all desire is related to sensation, there being 5 traditional senses. The 4 six-petaled white lilies have six petals which is signified as the hexagram, a symbol of the macrocosm. "
"Dearest, (in the pinda exist) the chakras of five lines, 16 lines, sixty four petals, the truly beautiful 100 petal (lotus)[Agnya?] and the beautiful thousand petal lotus [Sahasrara] and above this is a very brilliant 10,000,000 petal lotus. Above the 10 million petal lotus is a 30,000,000 petal lotus, each pericarp of which is similar to a flame. Above this is the all encompassing, eternal, undivided, independent, steady lotus – pervading all, stainless. By its will (sveccha) it causes creation and dissolution. Both the animate and inaminate are dissolved in this linga. (Kaulajnananirnaya Tantra, a Nath: text)
