He actually did say the hero’s journey was the male initiation myth. Then offered an ulternate obviously more clearly limited transformation to be the female initiation storey.

Limited transformation? Wow.

About 10 years ago I was given the option to never have to work a day in my life ever again. I walked away because I didn't love the man. It's not like he was bad looking, I just knew he would never love me the way I wanted.

Are we going to pretend that young men get given that option at anything close to the frequency as young women?

I am still proud today of the integrity and faith I had at such a young age to do that. Faith in a love that I didn't even know was yet possible.

I don't think it was a limited tranformation at all. I used to shudder when guys said they would "treat me like a princess". I'm not a princess. I'm a red blooded adult human female.

IF ONLY men got the opportunity to have THAT kind of initiation into the world.
