Hi Kindle! I've had a hard time just sitting down to meditate, and I appreciate this thread! So far I've found that the best path for myself in order to quiet the mind is to start by engaging the body, and then moving into the breath. Walking works, but yoga is even more efficient.
Like Ankh I've also found the quiet time sometimes needed for contemplation - observing whatever comes up, looking at it from different angles, inside and out, and seeing what there is to learn, and feeling what there is to feel.
