Why the hate for wisdom?

You and I remember the emotional state of the forums back then very differently.    In my mind, animosity on Bring4th has never been higher as when the meat-eating thread was a primary focus of the community.

I may not have a clear picture looking back. I do remember the volatility. Maybe I just don't recall so much name-calling, although there was some. I can't put my finger on it. I feel as though there are more people in pain now.
