Edit Reason: a word

Reminds me of the story from the Buddha's order where there was this arahant who had gone blind due to a past karma, and was absentmindedly killing all manner of insects as he paced a certain area. The other monks questioned the Buddha, who told them that there was no karma as there was no intention.
I have a moral dilemma of my own though. Is it wrong to feed a spider to a crab? This kills the spider, but it feeds the crab. I ask because I found a spider on me while reading at the beach under some trees, and when I removed it it hung off my hand by a string of web. As I was deciding where to put the spider down, a morbid curiosity overtook me and I lowered the spider to the mouth of a crab hole. Alas! The spider was seized by the crab and dragged underground! I have to assume to spider was promptly eviscerated and devoured.
