Remember the days
and the nights
on the plains of the Alaskan tundra
when
I was the frightened wolf cub (the quiet one)
...and it was you who...
and I was calmed;
yet
even now when the moon
shines
and lights
the landscape a silvery
glow
I remember how you found me,
and rocked me to sleep in your paws;
and though I am older than you
my spirit is this cub.
