Well for sure, I only expanded in the context of mentioning 'this forum'. I didn't mean that you were off-topic in this regard.

I think in general that you recognize that will aid in more understanding between yourself and others. Not everyone can feel the person behind the words and is again why I express that the particulars of the words you choose do have an impact. I wouldn't say that hostility is what you put off but perhaps rather what seems maybe like detachment or aloofness.
