That's a tricky and controversial subject. There is some alternative medicine that I am fully on board with, but if it can't outperform placebo, then I would just go within myself and work on changing my belief system (I would do this even if a given treatment or cure has reportedly outperformed placebo). Unfortunately much of homeopathy fails to outperform placebo. I'm not saying there is nothing to it, or that it doesn't ever work (and even for the reasons that practitioners think it does) but the question ultimately becomes: what is most effective way to treat something? No matter the route one takes for healing, if it is not accompanied by an emotional journey, it will most likely not endure.
Ultimately whatever we place real faith (which cannot be objectively measured) in will be empowered by that faith. What would be really interesting is if science ever found a way to objectively measure time/space energy interactions.
