Finally catching up with this interesting thread and its insightful comments. I still think it's intriguing that love, presumably green-ray love as opposed to second-distortion love, is required to open yellow ray completely. I do agree with peregrine's emphasis on "relationship" in the quote and ricdaw's statement that green ray is broader in scope.

Could we tweak the quote to apply to orange ray? "Each entity must, in order to completely unblock orange ray, love all aspects of itself, with hope only of itself's joy, peace, and comfort."
