I've noted that it depends strongly on if you believe that you should be the one to strike back against interlopers or if you should leave that up to god.
Or, if you believe that the purpose of prayer is to get you a bike, or, to get you forgiveness after you've taken the bike.
The more strongly you believe that its the job of someone externalized to get you the bike or the forgiveness as you have not been born of your own choice, then it makes perfect sense to not blame an entity for a bad thought, but if you believe that you exist where you exist because you wish to exist there, then certainly blaming an entity for their thoughts is proper.
That depends on if you wish to see the person as the body or the energy field which includes all the bodies which follow the body.
