Yeah, Kile said he regretted not asking her more questions, like age and what happened to her foot especially. His brain just broke when they reunited happily, and then the girl said "Well you can keep her!" almost excitedly. She said that her aunt didn't want her anymore because she got out of the yard a lot, but it still makes me wonder how long they even had her, because the day I saw her was the first time I'd ever seen her out, and NO ONE else at the trailer park, even nearby her, recognized the dog. Judy/Crystal was very happy to see the girl (Simone), but in perspective she's also that happy to see me when I get home from work after being gone 5 hours. So, while the girl said she was "her baby", I find it hard to believe that she had the dog for any extended period of time.
Overall it is a happy situation for everyone, I think, because Judy (she doesn't respond to Crystal and JUST started responding to Judy, and Kile hates the name Crystal so I think it's gonna still be Judy) was quite undernourished and, while we don't have extensive disposable income, I am more than happy to go without to take care of my pets. Her bootie and new harness and leash should be here any day, she has a ton new toys including a Kong that she LOVES, and she's putting on weight with organic dog food. So, I know her situation is much better, but it's still sad to watch her go through the confusing process of being abandoned by her owners then being held captive by some very kind neighbors.
-crosses fingers hoping some puppy pictures get taken on Saturday!!!-
