In regards to interpreting seemingly negative catalyst as a magical positive experience, I have a few comments. First, I enjoy Jesus' idea in his Course that any time a brother is angry, hateful, or attacks you, to perceive it as a call for help. Thus, the most common seeming negative catalyst, being attacked by someone, can be perceived as a positive event, in that you have an opportunity to serve the other self through love.
Also, in what is largely covered by Q'uo, the opportunities to open the heart may be experienced in a manner that invokes sadness. Simply accepting the experience of sadness and choosing to undo the thoughts of guilt that cause sadness is a method for taking a poignant catalyst and achieving positive results.
