Van Morrison (the Belfast Cowboy) takes the lead with Richard Manuel of The Band in one of my favorite tunes. This song illustrates why The Band may be the most important group of the Sixties - four Canadians and a boy from Arkansas produced the most iconic Americana in all of history ( King Harvest, The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, Across The Great Divide, and others ) and combined with Robbie Robertson's immaculate lyrics and first rate musicianship, they truly stood alone.
