Wanted to mention to my meditation friends that on the way home from the farmer's market (went right after the meditation), I saw a hawk taking flight and circle above.
We also saw a "wake" of vultures circling the highway above us - I know most people wouldn't give vultures a positive association, but they belong to the same scientific Order of birds as hawks and eagles. Hawks and eagles are scavengers, too, the main differences being that vultures are more gregarious/group social, and often have the featherless heads. In flight they are almost indistinguishable from hawks/eagles, except the fact that you will see 20-50 of them all together at once.
