I do think one of the important purposes of being on earth is to experience what it is to be asleep, so I wouldn't expect to see an awakened society.
All that we see is experience of the Creator as the Creator, and it is the Creator's will to know Himself. Wanting to avoid it or for it to be different is wanting to be blinded from truth because the mirror is too intense.
Others' deeds are your own, and this is so in any part of Creation. I tend to want to work my own evolution through my own distortions as my own unique facet of the Creator and while doing so I do not expect others to be more than what they are as also their own facets of Creator. There are infinite consciousnesses above me and infinite consciousnesses bellow, each working in it's own place and time.
