Could you describe in more detail what you're thinking about?  I'm getting the impression you want to try to throw out energy waves (green-ray?) to try to get others to feel them, something like that?  I'm guessing by "nuclear-like" you mean in terms of the energy being fusion-based rather than a fireball.  I hope.  

The original thought about the explosion was more about massive glorious destruction.. 

I guess green ray energy waves would be a better thing to do.
