The gateway is very bended at the beginning and hard to follow due to the speed. After passing the first violet ring/portal (honestly, it's very similar to Stargate), everything will much more easier. I believe there are 3 portals, maybe 4, not sure anymore. There is also a pitch black area halfway, but don't let that scar you. Anyway, it's some kind of autopilot and another portal will visible in the distance to get you out of that area.
