I request your services again, my friend. My panic attacks have moved up into a new level of severity and frequency. I now feel like they originate from my chest. I feel a indescribable crushing terror from that region, although, to be honest its difficult to tell where they originate. I have been to the ER twice in the past few weeks.
I can find no common trigger for the panic attacks other than a shortness of breath and/or tachycardia just prior.
Last night I had the worst one so far. I was completely asleep when it felt like a beam of pure energy hit me square in my chest. Unfourtuantly I have been unable to remember the associated dream. It wasn't unpleasant in of itself, but it woke me up and started a panic attack that lasted over an hour and twenty minutes, my longest yet.
I eventually had to wake my wife up at 4:30 in the morning and had her drive me to the ER. They ran their usual tests including a chest xray and found nothing, although they referred me to a cardiologist.
It has gotten to the point where I'm having difficulty functioning. There is no escape since its not triggered by my environment and because the as-needed panic attack drug doesn't help. They seem to come on randomly. Now I am somewhat afraid to sleep due to last night's attack.
Is it possible this is pychic attack? I would appreciate further insight into the root cause of this.
