Hi Unbound,
Thanks for the reply. Great thought. With that in mind, I wonder if even there may have been intent to hoax, there may have been some or a great level of truth in that burst of creative energy. (Even if unwittingly.)
But then, I'm also finding a great paradox in this. The "creation/belief-system" which inspired Rev. Jim Jones, or the Heavens Gate group as well as others which may have had an apparent "bad" outcome, might be considered an "inspired creation" also. This is what I'm struggling with.
I am concerned that those of us (or maybe I'm just projecting my feelings), who seem to be "searching for enlightenment"- are really just trying to put some organizing system to the chaotic and confusing appearance life might present to us. Perhaps trying to put some beneficent metaphysical force in the mix to quell internal fears. (Again, I might just be projecting my own feelings.)
Underlying all of this, I feel on the verge of some discovery, or revelation. I feel this intense drive for understanding. (Wow, I don't know why I am having such a hard time verbalizing this.)
Look, I don't feel I'm a "wanderer" or any type of gifted personality. There is just this intense , distracting, excruciating urge to "understand".
It feels right at the tips of my fingers. I can almost feel it. But it is covered or blocked by something.
However, taking the steps towards this understanding is becoming increasingly difficult. (Meditating-etc. Which I'm not even sure I am doing correctly.)
Oh brother, with all this typing, I'm still not even sure I have come close to asking or saying what I intended.
I guess I'm asking if we should be either less inclined to / or more inclined to reject Postings like the Hidden Hand interview as complete falsehood, based ours or others "Hoax Meters"?
Especially if we were to look at how many would react if we presented them with the Law of One Website. We could very well get the "you're being hoaxed" response also.
I'm saying this not to preach to the choir,...I am just really struggling in this search for understanding.
Whos words can be claimed to be perfectly true or perfectly false by another? Even if that individual tells you one way or the other, you cannot really know if you are ascertaining the truth of the matter.
I would offer you this advice from a much more advanced being than I:
“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”
― Gautama Buddha
If you ask me, all of the "external experiences" we have are signs and symbols pointing us along the way. The destination of knowledge is the beginning of a new question. I, personally, do not see the merit of believing in anything that has not been tried and tested for the self. Believe in yourself, trust in yourself.
"Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth."
- Mahatma Gandhi
