I discovered masturbation at an early age, it has always been something private and I appreciate this opportunity to discuss it in a spiritual context. I have been keeping a dream journal for the last year and lately I have been masturbating in my dreams....? It has been an amped-up theme within my subconscious so I am wondering what it means.

When doing it, I would advice to apply conscious understanding of your thoughts and fantasies. What are you seeking? Why? Where do you find pleasure? Etc. My opinion that instead of abstaining from this activity, rejecting it or supressing it, it is much better to act it out seeking an understanding of the self. My experience is also that once the understanding is reached, this seemingly negative fantasy loses its "power" and falls away.
You're right about not suppressing desires, your quotes are apt. I suppose I have some 'research' to do! About a year ago a psychic told me I had some sexual issues that I needed to address, things I wasn't talking about. I think it is just embarrassment about my fantasies, fear of judgement.
