I feel the same way..thinning isn't fun at all. I also hate when you're digging and you disrupt an ant colony.

Good point. Around here, we have, among others, little black ants that are quite ferociously aggressive when their colonies are disrupted.

I also hate cutting worms in half when digging, even though people say it doesn't kill them.
