Masturbation

Done a search and I can't really find a thread directly related to this. I'm sure we can all relate to this at some level or another, though I'm curious as to the opinion of others regarding Masturbation from a Health (Energetic and Physical) standpoint. The Taoist usually link it to a depletion of vital energy, and can be the cause of adrenal fatigue if done in an excessive manner, whereas 'western' thought usually relates to it actually being healthy if done on a daily basis.

Somewhat of a catalyst for me at the moment, as tracing my own impulses leads to being triggered by boredom and the dopamine addiction. The deeper psychological components seem to revolve around a lack of love and compensating for this. I'm thinking it's time to put a close on that habit, as I've generally felt much better (More 'Alive' and energetic) through periods where I did not partake in the activity on a frequent basis. I'm also thinking excess energy is dispelled which could otherwise be used towards the body (Energetic components). Of course, the healthy preferred alternative is the sexual energy transfer through simultaneous orgasm with a partner.

Thoughts? Anyone kick the habit that can report in on their own experiences?
