How exciting! Looking back I feel quite liberated about 'losing' my job. I realize now that I never want to work, just for the money, ever again. Haven't worked a day in 8 months, moved to a place I actually couldn't afford but I really needed a place for myself so I guess the universe supported that idea 
. Just go with your intuition, You are amazingly talented and I bet there are many writers who would love for you to illustrate their books. Or perhaps you could offer your drawings to (online) magazines? Ask a tattoo artist if you can spend some time with them while they're at work, so you'll have an idea of what it truly entails? Or if you feel too uncomfortable about tattooing perhaps you could design pieces for their clients. Have fun
