On the same note, I read elsewhere (Living with Joy, if I recall correctly) to give love to negative emotions, and to love yourself for being human and on a learning path, and then to feel gratitude for being in a position that enables you to recognise the times when the Mind takes over. A very fast way to flip to a positive place.
