I guess gist of 'magical thinking' is about taking personal responsibility and seeking within. It's not fearful or meant to instill fear. Perhaps it was a projection on my part bc I was concerned, too, as I've seen magical thinking in its extreme causing psychological distress.
Within the 'rational people' there are unique personalities w/ a pulsing heart. Rituals are powerful, even observing others prepare and do the rituals could subtly shift person. You know I participated in exorcisms and banishing rituals (from the buddhist/shinto/blend of both traditions) and it's pretty remarkable... first time I learned about how to do 'counseling' was from these buddhist monks 'interacting' with beings/thought forms. I thought they were going to slay the entity/thing that seemed to be 'causing the problem' but it was like 'getting to know the entity/thing and being able to conjecture its needs and experiences'. I felt so understood and accepted, that I am OK. Now that I'm reflecting I experience this as diverting the attention to seek within (my bias of course influencing my perspective here).
I really appreciate your perspectives and this opportunity. Thank you! And apologies for going on and on. Thank you for letting me process this catalyst together.
