Do you guys feel like the egregore is influencing rational people, or rational people contribute to the egregore, or that the egregore feeds off the tension created when magical thinking is invoked in a manner that might be used to dismiss peoples opinions?

I would say it affects everyone that considers posting or replying to touchy subjects. On the other forums I found the most rational people would quit replying (they still felt tension just clicking to read), while the less rational people would go into full on wall-of-text mud slinging.

After a group 'exorcism' we noticed there was an air of confusion. The more fundamental folks were confused as to why they had gotten so angry, as all of the intensity and attachment had vanished. The rational folks were in awe of the thingy LoL!

I don't think there is really any way to point at people, as anyone that so much as reads these exchanges is affecting and being affected.

It's all fun and games.
