There is really something to be said for hearing the right song at the right time 
It can completely transform your state of mind.
The only time I have had a guide actively contact me was one time when I was very depressed at the state of my life. I came home from work and was lying on my bed complaining about everything. My girlfriend came over to comfort me and even my cat seemed to tell I was upset and came over and sat on my chest and I heard a voice that cut right through my internal monologue that simply said "be thankful to God for what you have." The voice was right, I realized that I have so much to be grateful for
It was actually that experience last year that brought me to join Bring4th I think. I wanted to find somewhere where I could talk about this sort of thing with people
