Line fishing would have a evolutionary pressure towards intelligence and avoidance of eating stuff that is unhealthy for the tuna, while net just has a evolutionary pressure towards being able to escape a net. Not as helpful.
Anyway. I have an odd view on these things anyway but I recommend a shift to long line fishing and then trying to get that to a dolphin non harmful state.
How about getting sea minerals and nutrition from seaweed--it's lower on the food chain and closer to light (photosynthesis)?
Dolphins caught in tuna nets, and whales beaching themselves, are trying to tell us something in the only way they have to speak to our hearts.
