Welcome Valainistima - I didn't feel that your introduction was a novel at all. It was just the perfect length.

I, too, have been an observer at times in my life. I found, as you mentioned, that at some point I needed to "get my hands dirty", so to speak. And have also found that for me, observation alone brought knowledge, but observation + experience gave better insight and wisdom.
