I'm sure this happens all the time...
Oh wait, it doesn't. Universities are a part of a system. They are heavily dependent on federal money at this point in time. One of the things they have to do to get maximum federal funding every year is raise tuition x percent. Many of the people that predicted the housing crisis are now predicting an education crisis as we have been brainwashed into feeling we need a piece of paper that allows us to procure gainful employment. Cost of education is progressing far ahead of inflation, similar to house prices in early 2000.
Luckily, the energy of the planet is progressing much too quickly for this to matter.
