Quote:I intend to live forever, so far so good.

    Hahahaha Smile

I'm not exactly sure if I'm allowed to link entire sites, but I assure you guys PickTheBrain is awesommmme.

A sample from Are You a Mental Slave or a Mental Master?:

Douglas Cartwright Wrote:Lao Tzu said “He who conquers others is strong; he who conquers himself is mighty. But I don’t see many people conquering themselves. ...

We are seemingly stuck inside our own ‘reality’, thinking that it is Reality. And it’s only a small step (up) in our minds to come to believe that our beliefs are True (rather than fallible re-presentations of the world around us) ...

When people say they are stuck I know they are not ACTUALLY stuck, they have just believed themselves into a corner that they have no options. ...

Find the taboo belief, the one that seems most real, most who you ‘are’ (and don’t like) and question it. This takes a willingness to question the felt realness of your ‘reality’. ...

This isn't my favorite article but it's the one I've read most recently Smile

The "new consciousness" he speaks of is 4d mentality: universal love and acceptance and recognition of the unity of all and the holiness of all.

Neale Donald Walsch in Conversations With God, Book 2 Wrote:Neale: "How can I begin to be a part of the new consciousness?"

Neale channelling "God," hereforth to be referred to simply as "God": "Be a light unto the world, and hurt it not. Seek to build, not to destroy. Bring my people home."

    Neale: "How?"

God: "By your shining example. Seek only Godliness. Speak only in truthfulness. Act only in love. Live the law of love now and forevermore. Give everything. Require nothing. Avoid the mundane. Do not accept the unacceptable. Teach all who seek to learn of Me. Make every moment of your life an outpouring of love. Use every moment to think the highest thought, say the highest word, do the highest deed. In this, glorify your holy self and thus too glorify Me. Bring peace to the Earth by bringing peace to all those whose lives you touch. Be peace. Feel and express in every moment your divine connection with the All, and with every person place and thing. Embrace every circumstance. Own every fault. Share every joy. Contemplate every mystery. Walk in every man's shoes. Forgive every offense including your own. Heal every heart. Honor every person's truth. Adore every person's God. Protect every person's rights. Preserve every person's dignity. Promote every person's interests. Provide every person's needs. Presume every person's holiness. Present every person's greatest gifts. Produce every person's blessing. And pronounce every person's future, secure in the assured love of God. Be a living, breathing example of the highest truth that resides within you.

Speak humbly of yourself lest someone mistake your highest truth for a boast. Speak softly, lest something think you are merely calling for attention. Speak gently, that all might know of love. Speak openly, lest anyone think you have something to hide. Speak candidly so you cannot be mistaken. Speak often, so that your word may truly go forth. Speak respectfully that no one be dishonored. Speak lovingly that every syllable may heal. Speak of Me with every utterance. Make of your life a gift. Remember always you are the gift. Be a gift to everyone who enters your life, and to everyone who's life you enter. Be careful not to enter another's life if you cannot be a gift. You can always be a gift because you always are the gift. Yet something you don't let yourself know that. When someone enters your life unexpectedly, look for the gift that person has come to receive from you."

I'm not absolutely sure if this was actually said, as with many quotes I didn't personally hear or know for certain that the person did say it, but if it is a genuine quote, it's one I love and feel to be very true. So here it is.

"The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than it has in all the previous centuries of it's existence."

    Nikola Tesla.

    From wikipedia:

"I honor the Spirit in you which is also in me." -- attributed to but not claimed by author Deepak Chopra[4]
"I honor the place in you in which the entire Universe dwells, I honor the place in you which is of Love, of Integrity, of Wisdom and of Peace. When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, we are One."[5][6]
"That which is of God in me greets that which is of God in you."[7]
"The Divinity within me perceives and adores the Divinity within you."[8]

The following is an excerpt from Oneness, by Rasha. I'm unaware of copyright laws, so if taking four paragraphs from her book is illegal, feel free to remove this quote. From page 13:

Rasha Wrote:In order to break a cycle of manifestation of negative occurrences, it is important
for you to be keenly aware of the vibration of all you communicate to others. Monitor
your speech. Do not utter a negative sentiment about anything, regardless of
whether or not you feel it is justified. Make a conscious effort that every word that
passes your lips is uplifting to the listener. Closely monitor the way you respond to
adverse circumstances and insure that your response is not one calculated to produce
for you more of the same.

Speak only the most positive possible statements regarding any situation. Speak
ill of no one, lest the energy be mirrored back upon you. Choose to partake, or to
pass. Simply that. Gossip, complaining, or speech in the guise of asking for help you
do not really require, is a recipe for reprisal in the form of circumstances that would
not be pleasing to you. Your speech is a powerful tool when carefully employed. It is
a danger to you when used carelessly.

Likewise, your thought patterns, even when not expressed verbally, carry an
energy charge that sets in motion circumstances of a corresponding vibration.
When one is mistrustful, for example, one manifests the experience of being
deceived. When one is fearful, one manifests the experience of frightening situations.
When one is anxious and feeling unworthy, one manifests the experience of
the rejection of one’s efforts. When one becomes the hunter, the hunted feel the
predatory energy and flee. When one is obvious in what one wants from another, it
is virtually guaranteed that the desired outcome will not be manifested.

Dwell not upon what is lacking in your life, but regard those circumstances with
gratitude. Understand that they pave the way for the shift in consciousness that
would put you in a position to manifest precisely what you have come into this lifetime
to do. A seemingly negative situation may well be the gateway to the precise
shift in focus that will deliver you into the arena where you can do your life’s work.

Hey JoshC, thanks for the excerpt from Oneness by Rasha. That is a nice reminder of a couple things. My great grandma used to say "If you can't say something nice about somebody, then don't say anything at all". Rasha is a bit more eloquent, but it resonates with me just the same.

My favorite quote today, is by Gandhi.
"We must be the change we wish to see in the world"

these are from the book i've been writing for the past few years
i will share them with yall. you are the first to read them.

One may have knowledge, but with wisdom one may use that knowledge for a higher purpose.
If knowledge is power, then wisdom is power in motion; meaning wisdom is the application of this power. It is When power is given meaningful direction and purpose.
    Help them to help themselves.
"Give one a fish, you feed him for a day, teach one to fish, you feed one for a lifetime."
"Give one a thought, you give a moment of learning, teach one to think, you give one a lifetime of learning."
There are many forms of bringing relief to the peoples of the world. Some are practical to their mortal existence such as health or medical services.
"Restore one's health and you give him vitality for a season, teach a man to be healthly
and you give one's vitality for a lifetime."
One cannot pass one's health to another. Although one universal form of relief practical to all peoples of the world is wisdom. Wisdom is power. Power to the people. People Power!
There is no form of relief greater then the endowment of wisdom.
Teach them to teach themselves. Help them to help themselves. Help Change the world in a way so that it may continue to change itself for the better.

"Today i read a story about an anthropologist who proposed a game to the kids in an African tribe. He put a basket full of fruit near a tree and told the kids that who ever got there first won the sweet fruits. When he told them to run they all took each others hands and ran together, then sat together enjoying their treats. When he asked them why they had run like that as one could have had all the fruits for himself they said: UBUNTU, how can one of us be happy if all the other ones are sad?

if you only have a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

    Quote:Law of the instrument
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The concept known as the law of the instrument, Maslow's hammer, or a golden hammer is an over-reliance on a familiar tool; as Abraham Maslow said in 1966, "I suppose it is tempting, if the only tool you have is a hammer, to treat everything as if it were a nail."

    also:

    Quote:Confirmation bias
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Confirmation bias (also called confirmatory bias, myside bias or verification bias) is a tendency of people to favor information that confirms their beliefs or hypotheses. People display this bias when they gather or remember information selectively, or when they interpret it in a biased way. The effect is stronger for emotionally charged issues and for deeply entrenched beliefs. For example, in reading about gun control, people usually prefer sources that affirm their existing attitudes. They also tend to interpret ambiguous evidence as supporting their existing position.

(07-03-2010, 06:47 PM)Namaste Wrote: Some profound through-the-veil quotes from Bill Hicks, a legend of comedy.

Quote:Wouldn't you like to see a positive LSD story on the news? To base your decision on information rather than scare tactics and superstition? Wouldn't that be interesting? Just for once?

"Today, a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration – that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There's no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."

    An all-time favourite...

Quote:The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly colored, and it's very loud, and it's fun for a while.

Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, "Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, "Hey, don't worry; don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we...kill those people.

"Shut him up! I've got a lot invested in this ride, shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry, look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real."

It's just a ride. But we always kill the good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok...

But it doesn't matter, because it's just a ride. And we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. Just a simple choice, right now, between fear and love.

The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one. Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.

Thanks for posting! EVERYONE needs some Bill Hicks in their lives!
