I'm very happy to join this group. Thanks first to Carla Jim and Don for their sacrifices. I'm a 63 year old male living in British Columbia, Canada, married, 2 grown children. I arrived at the Law of One teachings by a bit of a circuitous path.
Unlike a lot of the stories I've read here, I think I've had it pretty easy.
I grew up in a loving family. We had our share of problems but we all got along and still do. My health has been very good (knock on wood), except for a speech impediment. This seems to me to be my big catalyst.
It seems to have been with me from day one. I can remember always being terrified of school. The happiest day of my life when I graduated out of high school,(I never have to go to school again) but of course it's not that easy.
I practiced talking with marbles in my mouth (Greek story). I enrolled myself in speech therapy in grade 8, but after a few frustrating months the therapist said she couldn't help me. Throw in a few late night prayers for help, why me etc. I decided OK this is for something I must have done in a past life. I must have been very abusive verbally or something. So I'm just going to have to live with it. The big problem was, it sort of ran my life, I still hate the telephone.
I managed it through alcohol and later smoking pot when it became popular in the mid sixties, the hippie generation was in full swing and it was a perfect fit for me. I often thought to myself how lucky I was to be Canadian, and not to have to go to Viet Nam. I truly thought we were actually going to change the world for the better. Little did I know what we were up against.
I did spend half a semester at university, but didn't like it and with the rest of my savings and 2 friends we decided to go to Spain for the rest of the winter. Met 2 guys on the plane going over, who were heading to Israel, so we said lets buy a car and drive it to Israel or as close as we could. This was in '69 so things were very cool still. We started out in Luxemburg. By the way, we drove to New York from BC and flew on Icelandic Airways on one of the last prop planes to fly across the Atlantic, so we had to stop in Iceland to refuel. We met a German girl in Belgrade Yugoslavia, who was hitchhiking to India. The 3 of us outvoted the other guys and there were now 6 of us in a volkswagen bug heading to Istanbul. We sold the car, the other guys split for Israel and we got a train for Ezerum near the Iranian border. Bus to Tehran, then south through the desert to a very small border crossing on the Pakistan border where we had to wait for a couple of days for a bus from the Pakistan side to Quetta. This was before the Islamic revolution and all the upheaval over there, you could go more or less wherever you wanted.
While at the border we met a sadu from India who was walking around the world. This was where I had my life changing moment. I looked into his eyes and saw pure love and I was electrified, I saw the Creator. We spent 3 months in Goa, India was like being home, I knew I had lived there before. On the way back we went up to Afganistan and basically backtracked home.
Around a year later I was married. My dad introduced me to a friend of his who was into Parahamansa Yogananda. I didn't read his book "Autobiography of a Yogi" till about a year later, but it resonated and I studied with the Self Realisation Fellowship for years.
Last summer, my son, who is a bit of a rebel, was talking about the sinking of the South Korean warship and said it was a false flag event. I said no, it didn't make any sense, why would the US or the S Koreans sink their own ship. The US was tied up in Iraq and Afganistan, why start a new problem for themselves. He said remember the Gulf of Tonkin incident.
The US attacked their own ship to enter Viet Nam.
I was following local provincial politics and was not happy the way things were going (selling out all the resources, cutting services etc.). Following posts the name Bilderberg came up a few times so I googled it. This was the start of my second awakeing. After researching 911, JFK, Roswell etc. I was seeing the world in a completely different way.
I have always been interested in Sci-fi, UFO's so I was really happy to follow up this area of research. Somewhere along the way I stumbled onto the Law of One and now here I am. As Carla says "this is the gold", she is so right. I am home again. Thanks also to Monica and the team.
