Key here, is use of the word intend, whether heart is open or not is a bonus of course but just the intention to.. then judgement an attachment can slip away.. an can rest in that knowing or being?

When these lessons are occurring, a helpful reminder further on in the transcript "within this opaque, deep illusion, there is no other way to complete and then balance negative emotions. That is the purpose of there being an illusion, for self-consciousness must be awakened. The third density begins with a sense of self asleep, and happiness and contentment do little to awaken the soul. It is the interactions with others that bring grief, suffering, loss and trauma which create the opportunities you most cherished before the incarnation.

I can't help but recoil at some of these words, and I wonder if parts of the message were distortions caused by Carla's biases towards Christianity and martyrdom, due to the nature of conscious channeling. In the message there seems to be an idealization of the concepts of pain, suffering, self-sacrifice, and disregard for one's self, in a way that seems very twisted to me.

I remember Ra had a seemingly similar message:

It is to be noted that among your entities a large percentage of all progression has as catalyst, trauma.

Although similar, this is much more matter-of-fact, more logical and reasonable, without the apparent distortions towards self-sacrifice and martyrdom. Furthermore, it could be implied in these words that trauma is not at all necessary for the development of the spirit; it just so happens that it tends to be a good catalyst among people. I'm okay with this, and I accept it. From Q'uo's words, I accept that we didn't come here just to be comfortable and stagnant, and the basic idea that a good couple goes through pain supporting each other is of course a sound one. The overall message, though, seems insane to me, and the mere use of such a loaded word as "suffering" not only betrays a bias, but goes opposite to another message that Q'uo once gave:

Suffering is a word biased substantially in the negative sense. When one suffers one is considered to be bearing pain, difficulty, and trouble. Yet to suffer is actually to allow, and what is allowed in suffering is fear. Any experience may be suffered or allowed to occur, yet it is the experience which is not resisted which brings a lack of suffering (...). insofar as the experience is not resisted and is entered into faithfully, there is not the suffering.

I wonder if we share the same view of what trauma is with these beings. Perhaps this is where the difficulty in understanding arises. If these beings come from a rarified and beautiful place, where they are not suffering perpetually and where there is an awareness of the creator's love, maybe almost everything we do might strike them as traumatic. A trip to Walmart, a domestic quarrel over, lets say, unloading the dishwasher, the pain of learning your child has been bullied at school. We are thick creatures, but the heart gets rattled a hundred times a day in ways they would not experience in a more pure realm.

When I am sensitive to my feelings as they roll through me each day, I am often aware of pain. Pain in response to very subtle things, such as miscommunications, small cruelties or injustices, and flickering feelings of self doubt or shame. Perhaps these beings, in their great compassion, do not differentiate between great and small trauma and sympathize as they witness us experiencing the catalyzing sufferings of daily life.
