Realized what my Dermatophagia means to me

Ive had Dermatophagia (wolf biters syndrome) for my entire life. It can be very difficult as it can be pretty painful and bloody at times. However, I had read a Q'uo channeling (forget the source) in which its mentioned that what your mind cannot balance, your body balances the though accordingly. So, if you feel you have carried too much, your back will balance this out and similarly with other parts of your body.

After internalizing this concept, I realized that my Dermatophagia follows this same patterning. Our left parts of our body are controlled by our right brains and similarly for our right side of our bodies. Our right part of our brains are our subconscious/symbolic parts of our mind and the left part of our brains are the conscious/logical parts of our mind.

So, when my right hand picks at my left hand, its probably my logical part of my brain disagreeing with the symbolic part of me at that time. And when my left hand picks at my right hand, its probably my symbolic part of my brain picking at my logical thought process at that time. When one hand picks at itself, its probably a conflict that would be better resolved by analyzing that particular part of me more.

My fiance has dermatillomania which means she will pick at her skin, usually her face. She has had contamination phobia with OCD and anxiety for quite some time. The skin issue is related to the contamination phobia because she feels 'cleaner' afterwards and like she is releasing something negative by the activity. The most likely is that the abuse she experience induced ptsd which related the contamination to the abuse and so she would pick whenever she got anxiety. She has since gotten it quite under control through a combination of medication and learning the root of the behaviour.
