As a member of this group, I'd like to point a finger to one of our most under discussed energy points: The red-ray energy center. Collectively, I think we struggle with a lot of depression - many people here have attempted suicide or sincerely contemplated it for extended periods, many of us use intoxicating substances to alter our reality, and in general the type of personality who visits internet forums is one that dabbles in avoidance, whether it be procrastination or substituting online forum interactions for face-to-face interactions (ones that require us to be in our body to participate in). Also many of us deal with being at level near or below poverty, which creates all sorts of survival issues in our minds. A lot of us deal with being tired often. A lot of us have dealt with periods of being "sickly". All of these "faults" apply to me, as well, and while I wouldn't exactly call them faults per se, I do think these actions and situations are indicative of a red ray that is not fully open, and a desire to avoid involvement with the dirty 3D mess.
In fact, even Ra speaks more about the 2-5th energy centers than the first. Let's get some quotes and put into context what Ra says about the red ray:
So any other ray is only as strong as the red ray energy that supports it.
So we first perceive each experience as how it factors into our survival. My paycheck was low, will I be able to afford food/rent? I have a fever, could it be something terrible? I don't think I can function today, maybe I need (x subtance) to help me get by... these sorts of thoughts are the first ones we think upon a situation when we have an imbalance in the root chakra.
Grounding oneself in reality and remembering that we are here in this illusion to be and do, and to love it as-is, is important. IMO one of the reasons I use marijuana is because I desire to alter the reality that I jumped into - at the core, my body isn't outputting the chemicals I desire and the the world isn't reflecting what I want to see. So I have a smoke, and it's fixed. I feel the same way about most chemical substances we ingest. Oh look, caffeine, makes me have more energy and makes the time go by faster! Booze, that sweet numbness and forgetting that comes with a warm buzz. Sugar, it makes me feel so warm and fuzzy and cared for! We use these chemicals to help facilitate an active root chakra but they are often symptoms of what is already underactive.
Another subject I want to talk about is attempts and thoughts of suicide. These are extremely painful and scarring situations that are not healed quickly in an incarnation. When one desires very strongly to leave their vehicle, the universe will offer opportunities for that. If you change your mind at the last minute, you are allowed that prerogative, but you have to make it back up to the self you almost abandoned. As a society on the whole, we neglect our physical vehicles, so forgoing the extra love and healing needed after serious contemplation of death is quite detrimental. Carla seriously desired death at a young age, and that catalyst (dancing with death) repeated itself ad infinitum over her lifetime.
Mostly, fear originates in the red-ray (survival), so if we have feelings of fear (exhibited by avoidance), we are likely worried about our survival. Fear of death, or fear of lack of comfort, fear of failure. Fear is like the offswitch for the chakra-pipe. Like when a vocalist gets nervous before performing, and their throat closes up so all that comes our are little squeaks. That's what happens when the red ray gets shut off - very little energy can push through any higher.
I think the modern computer is a huge contributor to this phenomenon. Often when we are at the computer, we consciously use only very few of our physical senses (sight and sometimes sound) and very little of our body (hands). The rest of evacuates into cyber space to participate there. It's thrilling and fun, but it is very important to interact with the 3D world in our bodies as well, as that is what we came here to do. The more time we spend disconnected from our physical vehicle the more difficult it is to ground ourselves. It's like any exercise or skill, it must be honed and practiced and balanced. We've spent much of our lives practicing being out of our bodies and communicating in cyberspace, so learning to embrace and accept physical vitality and power on the earth plane is the lesson.
There are so many little things that are important to taking care of our physical vehicle and creating a healthy red-ray. Things like grooming oneself (not for the end goal of physical beauty but physical comfort and health), taking care of the Earth (picking up trash and whatnot, the red-ray energy comes directly from the earth so our perception of that energy is analogous to our relationship to the planet), eating foods that are objectively nourishing, healthy physical exertion in a nature setting (like nature walks or gardening) are very basic but necessary and unfortunately easily avoided and ignored in our modern styled lives.
If anyone has any other insights or tips into how to balance the red ray, please add your thoughts! I have another thread planned that's sort of a companion to this one, too. I'm ready to get serious about balancing those red-ray energy centers and embracing our illusion!
In fact, even Ra speaks more about the 2-5th energy centers than the first. Let's get some quotes and put into context what Ra says about the red ray:
Quote:The basic pivotal points of each level of development; that is, each density beyond second, may be seen to be as follows: Firstly, the basic energy of so-called red ray. This ray may be understood to be the basic strengthening ray for each density. It shall never be condescended to as less important or productive of spiritual evolution, for it is the foundation ray.
So any other ray is only as strong as the red ray energy that supports it.
Quote:49.6 Questioner: What process would be the recommended process for correctly awakening, as they say, the kundalini and of what value would that be?
Ra: I am Ra. The metaphor of the coiled serpent being called upwards is vastly appropriate for consideration by your peoples. This is what you are attempting when you seek. There are, as we have stated, great misapprehensions concerning this metaphor and the nature of pursuing its goal. We must generalize and ask that you grasp the fact that this in effect renders far less useful that which we share. However, as each entity is unique, generalities are our lot when communicating for your possible edification.
We have two types of energy. We are attempting then, as entities in any true color of this octave, to move the meeting place of inner and outer natures further and further along or upward along the energy centers. The two methods of approaching this with sensible method are first, the seating within one’s self of those experiences which are attracted to the entity through the south pole. Each experience will need to be observed, experienced, balanced, accepted, and seated within the individual. As the entity grows in self-acceptance and awareness of catalyst the location of the comfortable seating of these experiences will rise to the new true-color entity. The experience, whatever it may be, will be seated in red ray and considered as to its survival content and so forth.
Each experience will be sequentially understood by the growing and seeking mind/body/spirit complex in terms of survival, then in terms of personal identity, then in terms of social relations, then in terms of universal love, then in terms of how the experience may beget free communication, then in terms of how the experience may be linked to universal energies, and finally in terms of the sacramental nature of each experience.
