Not my thing really. I do enjoy some classical but prefer more modern stuff.

Hey Ashim, I was listening to this yesterday and it made me think of you since I know you're a big Gary Numan Fan too
Seems to me to be a good discription of life as a wanderer. I like the line "We could always go home, but everybody says this is the place to be."

good old Greensleeves was used in a movie I watched the other day, though I can't recall what it was just right now. some music just speaks across time, and is not subject to fashion or passing tastes. It is *deep*

Universe has been one of my favorite instrumentals.
Once again I remembered a vague song from childhood. This time however I decided to succumb myself to finding the song. Turns out it was a hybrid combination of the songs "Freedom" and "Pray" in my head which rang. I like em, added "Everybody" which has such a nice feel to it. Enjoy .)
DJ BoBo - Freedom DJ BoBo - Pray DJ BoBo - Everybody
I wore out the stylus of my dads record player with this album.
Faith by The Cure. Awesome atmospheric music - with a touch of depression. The chord sequence is amazing - Dm.-Dm9-Bb-G-Gm9-Eb etc... Repeats thoughout the entire song - mesmerizing... The Drowning Man

This goes out to Monica, another hardcore Gabriel fan.... Here's to you, dear, and for all you do to make the world a better place.... Humdrum - from his first solo album, 1977 Mother Of Violence - from his second solo album, 1978 Walk Through The Fire - the original version, from the movie soundtrack, Against All Odds, 1984. This is my all-time favorite song of his - to me, it's truly transcendental....

intro music for Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. without a doubt, the GREATEST TV SHOW ever made. the last 5 episodes had me in constant tears, with a jaw dropping storyline finale around episode 60. depicts a fine example of what opening the indigo gateway might be like, and seeing 'truth'. character development is outstanding; and you will fall in love with almost everyone in this show; even the 'baddies'. depicts what 3d service orientation is all about; brotherhood, comraderie, enduring difficulties. and like all truth; deeply deeply satisfying. Fills you up with wonder and astonishment at the 'creation'; of which this anime is just a very succint microcosm. f*cking mindblowing. plenum

This is a more personal post because the artists featured are both close childhood friends, who, due to their love of music and sheer determination , have manged to forge out a living out of their passion.
Simon Maragh with his indie band Betty & the Id, from Birmingham UK, and my one and only guitar teacher Pete Brychmore, now lead guitarist in the popular UK punk band Goldblade. Enjoy. Simon's band. Pete (tank's) band. |
