I'm kind of learning a bit about the difference between resolving problems and dissolving problems... which kind of reminds me of the part in the LOO about the difference between overcoming and letting things fall away.

Nothing shall be overcome. That which is not needed falls away.

The orientation develops due to analysis of desire. These desires become more and more distorted towards conscious application of love/light as the entity furnishes itself with distilled experience. We have found it to be inappropriate in the extreme to encourage the overcoming of any desires, except to suggest the imagination rather than the carrying out in the physical plane, as you call it, of those desires not consonant with the Law of One; this preserving the primal distortion of free will.

The reason it is unwise to overcome is that overcoming is an unbalanced action creating difficulties in balancing in the time/space continuum. Overcoming thus creates the further environment for holding onto that which apparently has been overcome.

well certain things dissolve away and certain things need to be fought. its really a matter of semantics to me. the hidden hand that rules this world needs to be resisted, revealed and stood up to in my world anyway. so the more i can skewer ridicule and reveal them to the world the happier i am.
example stop and frisk here in new york city. its racial profiling. people are standing up to it its in court now and it needs to be fought. its not going away on its own.
however something like getting rid of a bad habit is different. better to replace it with a good one instead of focusing on what u want to get rid of. so its all in the context of what u are dealing with.

Sounds like the past 13 years in the US to me; it's possible that just from this post comparing the US to Nazi Germany that the government will come to my house and kidnap me, torture me, then execute me, all without the right to trial. This is the NDAA. How would they know what people are saying? It's because they're spying on people without warrants.

I'm aware this isn't a political forum, but is indeed true that this country is slowly going down the same path. It is unfortunate.

I am working on that in my own way, Not Sure. I personally believe that if any positive change is going to happen in this country, it is going to be from outside of the system. Art is a great tool for this, such as music, because it works on the root level - the mind and feelings of people. The political system is a complete mess and it's well beyond repair, there's no use involving myself in it.

I would move if given the opportunity, though at the moment I'm taking care of my sister's newborn while she is locked up, among other things. I don't currently have the resources necessary to relocate, either.

I would love to found a new country, but since all of the habitable land is pretty much taken, I imagine it would be a very difficult process.

Fighting creates something like a win-lose paradox, where once you think you won in the fight against oppressor (inner or outer) to take your own power back, the oppressor comes back to take its [back] power, then the cycle continues. So in all, who really won and who really lost?

Interesting thread. I think it might be useful to think in terms of motivations rather than actions. Is whatever course taken fueled by love or desire for dominion? Could someone stand up in court, feeling love and acceptance for all other selves and another person do the same thing fueled by anger and revenge-- a desire to "stick it to those bastards" as I've heard some people say. You can be a victim and still polarize STS, seeking for an opportunity to finally dominate others.

But I have to acknowledge that constantly being hassled by others who want to dominate could push a young person towards seeing the world only in those terms.

im not looking at it from the viewpoint of analysis rie. i guess its possible to do that but but that wasnt my point. im referring to the battles of life that all humans face.
but u bring up and interesting point. lets take breaking a bad habit. even there at some point u come to a time where u just want to smoke that cigarette for example. and u have to suffer the discomfort of denying yourself that pleasure . u cant escape that. there is always discomfort when there is change . however the first time u are successful u have a reference point to bring u to the next victory. thats how i gave up smoking anyway. i find nothing wrong with the struggle with the self. at some point all real positive change imho involves some personal discomfort because we are leaving an old an comfortable past behind. or lets say u have a problem with anger. at some point u are just going to have to sit there and not respond to the impulse for anger, which is probably going to be uncomfortable. i dont think its possible to live on this earth and not suffer some discomfort. and each one of us has our own approach. some pain is unavoidable from my viewpoint. but we have allies in the invisible who will assist us if we are determined. so we are never alone .
abstraktion i agree the motivation is key. what is motivating us. is it love. is it power. is it love of self or love of others. that is key. i have been thinking lately a lot about the effects of my actions. realizing that all i do has an effect on someone else. so i want to bring more consciousness to my life so that my unconsciousness does not harm others. most of the hurt in this life imho occurs because we are not empathizing with the people we are interacting with. so we might be putting out garbage and drowing others with it and we dont care because we are in the grip of something which is giving us pleasure. i know i have certainly acted like that in my life. but i try everyday to be more conscious in how i interact. by the grace of god we all will become more conscious. the creator blesses those who honestly want to improve themselves because of their concern for others.

its victory over evil basically . whether that evil is societal or internal at some point we all must face ourselves and our issues. the reason our society is so screwed up is because we are in massive denial about stuff. drop a bomb on a family and issue an apology. ha ha i dont think so. attempt to suppress the vote in the past election on the phony theme of voter fraud. no not really just trying to steal the election. so personally i like the term victory it might not work for everyone but so be it. ill let u have the last word this subject is exhausted
