    Perhaps Ra wasn't very familiar with Vedic/Jyotish astrology?

    I agree that Western astrology pales in comparison.

    This is probably close to the reason, or perhaps Ra was suggesting the type of astrology with which the trio was familiar. They use the words "what has been called the ten planets," which typically indicates they are simply referring to something in a way which is more familiar to the group rather than how they would refer to it otherwise.
