Quote:Another way to say this, which may make more sense to the Western mind, is that we in the West are not trained in how to deal or even taught to acknowledge the existence of psychic phenomena, the spiritual world. In fact, psychic abilities are denigrated. When energies from the spiritual world emerge in a Western psyche, that individual is completely unequipped to integrate them or even recognize what is happening. The result can be terrifying. Without the proper context for and assistance in dealing with the breakthrough from another level of reality, for all practical purposes, the person is insane. Heavy dosing with anti-psychotic drugs compounds the problem and prevents the integration that could lead to soul development and growth in the individual who has received these energies.

I felt I was in communication with Ra at the time I was first admitted. I even spoke what I thought was ancient Egyptian rolling off my tongue. My parents didn't understand. They didn't want me exploring archetypes and instead told me to "get better". I've been to 3 hospitals because of coming off my meds and not being able to integrate the experiences.

I also found this article interesting: http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs012...75208.html

It talks about beings of different dimensions merging with you, and causing mental illness. I think the article though might be the same one that was posted, just at a different location.

The link was sent by a friend.

    Greetings Sisters and Brothers,

Never underestimate the depth of ignorance of the psychiatric community in countries / cultures that are built on the main monotheistic religions.

I was diagnosed with a psychotic illness in 2001, which I've discussed elsewhere on this forum, so I wont bore you with that again.

Last week, I took part in a PHD student's study, I had an MEG scan and an MRI scan and answered a questionnaire, which became interesting when I was asked if I ever heard voices or believed that someone else was putting thoughts in my mind...

I answered: I have never heard voices in my head as an audible signal but frequently have conversations with "others" as I am a Shaman...

The student said: What is a Shaman?

So I proceeded to explain briefly what a Shaman is and that it is by far the oldest "known" Spiritual Human practice...

I then asked her if she had ever heard of "The Universal Mind", and again, she replied in the negative.

This is why I feel that the euphemism "shrink" is so appropriate, they claim to be able to distinguish what thought processes are "abnormal" and therefore require treatment / medication...

But how the hell can they quantify the infinite, especially when their perception and knowledge is so woefully inadequate and incomplete!

    L & L

    Jim

Jim Kent: On behalf of the whole 'shrink' community we apologize for being so closed-minded. There are some people in the field who are also practicing 'shamans' and variety within the field... but hey, please bulk us into one category.

There is a stark difference in brain activity when comparing voices heard during psychosis and non-psychosis... and there is a way to distinguish what is psychosis and what is 'culturally normal' response to stress/distress, e.g., some people will see their ancestors or loved ones who passed on or hear voices while going through mourning. Buuut not everyone in the field is able to understand these things. It's rather representative of the general population of 'awaken' and 'sleeping' population. So please by all means call us shrinks, but also know it's representative of any human level of consciousness.
