I'll try to keep the explanation as brief as I can.
The house we are restoring is a 100 year old house that was built by George P Colby, the founder of one of the largest spiritualist communities in the south called Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp .
His original house shown here burned down sometime in the early 1900's
And here is our house with some subtle changes such as the columns and shape of the balcony
A short time after that, he and the camp had a falling out over a friend of his whom the president of the camp accused of placing a hex on him lol. Anyways, this friend convinced George Colby to move out to New Smyrna Beach, FL where he rebuilt the house. If you would like to read more about the history of him and our house, feel free to visit our blog which has a nice little about section. It shows the deed he signed, census records which is cool because he lists his occupation as Spiritualist lol.

During the late 1800's and early 1900's, he was quite a well traveled man. I found newspaper clippings from coast to coast about him doing Spiritual readings and channelings.
Anyways, onto the main question.
I may be totally reaching with this but my intuition is telling me otherwise so maybe someone with some more experience with shapes or even sacred geometry could comment on any potential spiritual reasons for the shape of the house.
The main architecture of the house always drew us along with its fascinating history. It's considered a cross gabled roof and is quite interesting when looking at it from above. The house is perfectly placed facing north and the roof is practically a perfect compass with all 4 directions running along each gable of the roof.
It gets even more interesting in the attic. Each pitch of the 4 gables are perfect equilateral triangles so there are 4 sections exactly like this
Now what's even more fascinating is the the intersection of the cross gabled roof has a perfect pyramid shaped by the trusses in the attic. It's a little hard to make out but look at the circular white electrical box towards the middle of the screen. That's the apex of the pyramid which, of course, if the center of the house.
All of that ductwork will be removed once we have individual mini split air conditioning systems installed into each room so the plan is to finish the entire attic. One section will be our daughters hang out room but eventually, we'd love to make that central area an incredible meditation area. We will at the very least, use one area like you see in the other picture as an enclosed meditation room.
Of course this is probably all basic architecture and engineering but we have looked through thousands and I mean thousands of pictures of old houses and floor plans and we have yet to find a house anywhere that has such a design. Then for him to design another practically just like it, is intriguing.
So If anyone has any suggestions, we'd love to hear them.
